Questions like these can be answered (partially) by reference to the ORER (Official Railway Equipment Register) of the appropriate year(s).  You can get these on CD from Westerfield (https://id18538.securedata.net/westerfieldmodels.com/merchantmanager/index.php?cPath=107) for 1959 and 1965, which would bracket the merger.  It will tell you whether N&W had any 50’ flat cars in 1959 and/or 1965, and how many.  It will be useless regarding specific details of the cars.  For that, a Car Builder’s Cyclopedia from the appropriate year would probably be your best bet.

These ORER are great references if you are trying to figure out what your “herd” of cars should look like  for a given railroad in a given year; (e.g., 20% of your hoppers should be Class x, 30% Class y, 50% Class z in 1935).

AFAIK the pre-1964 merger, steam era, N&W did not own any AAR 53' flat cars; it is possible the post-merger  N&W acquired some from the merged roads but I have no knowledge of that.

In addition, this model was originally produced by Life Liike under the Proto 2000 brand; if N&W had had them I'm sure a model would have been offered years ago.
