Wig Wag Crossing Signals

Andre (and others!),
That wig wag signal was taken out 1934ish when Route 11 was built over top of the railroad with a bridge. It was about 500 feet east of where the highway now crosses over top the railroad. Most all traces of the original Route 11 path are now gone, and I had a hard time identifying the location.

If you're modeling 1950's N&W around Chilhowie, you won't need one there. I don't know what kind was at the crossing at the milling company. But, don't forget the Esso distributor tied in with it!

So, BB:
How long did this wig-wag stay in service and how far east/west of Chilhowie was it.
BTW, I'm finishing a roughly kitbashed/scratchbuilt version of Chilhowie milling in HO. It's rough because I couldn't find good, close-up photos of the structure.
Pls. advise, and Happy Labor Day.
