Wig Wag Crossing Signals

How long did this wig-wag stay in service and how far east/west of Chilhowie was it.
BTW, I'm finishing a roughly kitbashed/scratchbuilt version of Chilhowie milling in HO. It's rough because I couldn't find good, close-up photos of the structure.
