Larry, As described above, I don't think you've got the signal's
location correct. I've never seen a double-mast signal on a single track
section (if I understand your wording correctly). The 1984 track chart
seems to show it as the westbound signal at the west end of the
double-track looking west toward the former B&O Xing and the US Hwy 50
overhead bridge. Perhaps someone from the Columbus District can confirm
or correct.
It's a bit confusing, but I now see why there cannot be a 'Clear'
indication for either Track 1 or 2. The fact that at the next
interlocking, one mile further west, Train Control ends factors into
this as well. Great discussion re signaling in general!
