A Class Bar Pilot

This picture of a J under construction was posted in a 611 FB group. No
photog info, but likely N&W Corp photographer.
I asked about the plates being welded into the pilot and was told they (at
least parts of them) are more of a cast steel skeleton, with metal plates
welded in to make them smooth/solid.  And that it gave access to some bolts
that held to the frame.
