 Following the 1964 merger, did any of the ex Nickel Plate and Wabash passenger cars show up on original N&W trains? Marty Flick
Marty:Here is the consist for 2nd 4 from Roanoke on  May 1, 1971Conductor C.S. Jones and Engineer W.W. BaldwinENG 759ConneautN&W 1727'N&W 1612 - (ex-Wabash 202)N&W  533N&W  536N&W 1611 - (ex-Wabash 201)N&W  538N&W  540N&W 1286 (?)N&W  535N&W  501N&W 1610 - (ex-Wabash 200)N&W 1733N&W  512N&W  511N&W  494N&W   50N&W 700
After the 1964 merger, N&W continued to operate a commuter train five days a week from Orland Park to Chicago, subsidized by the City of Chicago,  Probablymuch of the equipment was ex-Wabash or lEx-NKP.  The crew would leaveDecatur around 2:30 AM on Monday and return Friday night after the southboundrun to Orland Park.   Equipment was serviced at Decatur over the week end.                                                  Harry Bundy
