Baker Valve Gear on J's.

I am starting the research for an article on Baker Valve Gear for the online newsletter, J Notes, which I write for my Facebook discussion group, the Friends of the 611. What I'd like to know is how N&W developed use of Baker valve gear through the years, concluding with the usage of this valve gear on the J's. I appreciate any and all assistance that is offered me regarding this subject.
