RAILROAD WILL BUILD SEVENTY-FIVE HOUSES
------
Williamson to be Increased by N. & W. Homes for Employes
------
The Norfolk and Western railway company will take immediate steps to secure possession of a number of buildings lots in Williamson and erect a block capable of accommodating from sixty to seventy-five families, says a dispatch from that town. There has been a crying need of this number of houses there since the Norfolk and Western shops were located there and it seems impossible for the employes who have families to find houses to live in. Consequently many of the better class of workmen who have gone there have been unable to stay and the shops have been short of desirable help at many times on this account. The determination of the company to make that the chief weighing and shipping point for all the mines in that section, insures a brilliant future to Williamson and conditions should be made such as to encourage the company in the work of city building.
