The drawings and photos I have indicate BLACK for the steel tanks, like the
bridge paint.  The wood tank drawings are non-committal.  From photos some
appear to be painted with black paint.  Some appear natural but well

I believe one of O. Winston Link's records has a color cover showing the wood
tank at Villamont.  The steel one's were black and on the Norfolk Div. N&W had
concrete tanks that weren't painted `(looked like a silo) at Yadkin and
Wilson.
