Chris,
I have the same feelings.  All the HH N&W C425's were delivered in Black
with written out Norfolk and Western on the long hood with half moon
herolds.  My 2 shots of 1013 in 1974 were still in the as delivered paint.
Post 1974 any repaints would have been done using the black NW scheme.  I
guess there is a remote possibility that someone may have become creative
and brought the blue paint scheme back to life............perhaps
Decatur?   Ken Miller and I had such discussions today.  That would seem a
bit crazy.  Basic logic when you look at all things here makes me think it
was never painted blue.
