Jim.
They have produced their round roof boxcars for a zillion years and always with the "&". I prefer the "AND" in the name and haven't and won't buy them as they produced them. I have no issues with these cars other than the lettering.
Not sure how many other N&W modelers feel about this but I would buy 2 or 3 of them if the lettering fit my preferred era. Not a big chunk of the required run of 200 cars but a start.
Same with Accurail if they ran this paint/lettering on their PS-1 or 3500 AAR boxcars.
Anyone else interested in the latter scheme?

Roger,We could get Bower to make such a run and it looks like they would have been painted in the "AND" scheme for at least 16 years which would be longer than the "&". The difficulty in committing to this project is that Bowser has a minimum run requirement of 200 cars, but that is broken up into 4 road numbers. With the "&" cars being quite recent, I am not sure how many "AND"s we would be able to sell. But hey, you guys tell me; how many of these cars would you be willing to commit to purchasing in the "AND" scheme? If we can get commitment for over half up front, then the project could well be a GO.Thanks,Jim Cochran

It would be nice if we could get Bowser to do the N&W boxcars with "AND" rather than the ampersand. As far as Accurail any boxcars done the same way would be great. Not sure what cars they offer that would be acceptable other than the PS-1.

All,Most of the projects with Accurail have done OK to this point and I am ready to start on the next one. With so much diversification in interests out there, it is very hard for me to know which direction to head in terms of what kind of car for what time period would be a good candidate. Please take a few minutes to look at what body styles are available and what would best fit your needs for one or a few additions to your fleet.Thanks,Jim________________________________________
