Mike,
Thanks for broaching the subject to BLI. Just a shame they feel that way about the N&W/NS. I have no idea what terms N&W/NS dictate to manufacturers but we all feel its a bad business decision on their part.
It must be that they are extremely greedy as many other manufacturers seem to not have an issue as there's a multitude of products being made and proposed by many other reputable companies.
My personal observation is.......THANKS for not making N&W products. I don't have a very good opinion of BLI produced steam so they are actually doing me a favor the way I see it.
Again, thanks, Mike for seeing how they feel and letting us know.

Broadway Limited announced a CF about 10 years ago, but it was cancelled.  I can't remember if it was due to lack of orders or if it was caught up in some of those tooling theft lawsuits. I have to believe that an N&W CF would sell at least as well as a Missabe or C&O wood caboose like Walthers has produced.  Of course, N&W would seem to be an obvious choice for Athearn Genesis GP9's, but other than one run of Redbirds and some ex-NKP or Wabash units, I don't think they've done any.  Manufacturers often seem to have a "playlist", and N&W is seldom on it.  How else do you explain SP and UP 4-8-2's, PRR decapods and atlantics, and C&O streamlined hudsons, but no N&W M, S1/S1a, or streamlined 4-8-2? Marty Flick

Anybody got any guesses why no model manufacturer hasn't offered a
reasonably accurate, plastic, steam-era N&W caboose in the past 50
years?

Seems like they would only sell about a 1000 of them in the first year.

I can't even remember how many SMD cabs I reserved. But it was/is a lot.
