Division Point

As others have mentioned, the Division Point cars did not include MS-1
mail storage cars like #1407, that went on to be 611's tool car, so
I'm not sure that tracking one down would do this other manufacturer
any good, other than maybe looking at details like the trucks. No one
to my knowledge, brass, resin, or otherwise, has ever done an N&W
MS-1, unless they just did car sides.
I would definitely be interested in a couple, both for revenue and
excursion service. I did recently take one of the Rivarossi/Walthers
Trainline baggage cars, ones done with new tooling maybe 20 years ago
when Rivarossi was trying to upgrade a bunch of their models, and
modify it to resemble 1407 in excursion service. Finding appropriate
trucks that would fit was the hardest part.
For those who are interested, if you can find one of the MTH 85'
heavyweight baggage cars, you can carve and file on the ends to
simulate where the vestibules were plated over to make an MS-3, which
were rebuilt from coaches, and I think a stop as a combine in there,
too.

 All

I have a manufacturer interested in doing an N&W Mail Storage car
like 611/1218 tool car No. 1407. I mentioned to them that Division
Point had done one some time back, but of course, an over $400 car
does not fit many folks budget.

However, if you budget can afford one of those, can you share with me
any kind of details such as a part number, model number, so they can
try and track one down?

 Thanks
 Ken Miller
