C31 modeling question

Thank you, Jim.

I don't have any idea on matching the color. I only have this red
caboose. But I'm with you on acrylics after a spectacular failure with
them many years ago. These days I usually use Model Master enamel paints
and they have a pretty good variety of shades of blue. I have had luck
starting with Insignia Blue or Blue Angels Blue then altering the shade
as needed from there with white, black or other shades of blue.

One of these days I'd like to replace this caboose with one built the
way you describe, starting with a standard cupola caboose, although I'd
cut the Moloco cupola sides into the Atlas cupola instead of building up
new cupola sides from the Atlas cupola. The plastic Atlas makes those
bodies out of is not the easiest stuff to deal with. It's tougher and
more brittle than most styrene bodies I've worked with, almost like acrylic.
