k-3

[NW Modeling List]

The K3s were built in 1926 and gone by May 1945.  In searching the Society's archives, I found these two on-line photos:

I have seen photos of a K-3 with the long lettering on the tender. I will try to locate it and give more info unless someone else beats me to it. 

I want to say it was #203 in W-S, NC.

I am painting three k-3 brass locomotives. My problem is all of the pictures I have seen there are is no lettering on the tender. Did the Norfolk and Western put all of the lettering under the cab windows? Did they ever put Norfolk and Western on any of the tenders and if they did what were the number on the locomotives with the emblem on the tenders?  Any help will be appreciated,  Jim Bryant
