I have an HO scale Sunset Class M, which I am very interested in installing a sound system into. Has anyone here used the new Tsunami decoder with satisfaction? What should I look out for? Anything you would have done differently?
Second, I am interested to know about whistle sound. Below are the options they give for locos. I could probably use a medium steamer, or a small steamer decoder, based on which has a more suitable whistle. I realize that at least one of the M's had a special whistle. But do any of these stand out as being better or closer?

BTW, I not to restart the PCM Y6b debate, but I would be tempted to buy any more Y6b's without sound, and try to install one of these systems, with the 1218 whistle. I really like the theory behind the Y6b, but it just doesn't seem to play out well in reality. I've seen the Y6's going for $300 on ebay without sound. And, the ones without sound would most likely be the ones that remain available the longest. So perhaps even better deals will occur later. But, for $300, you cannot go wrong with that engine.
Thank-you,
Mike Rector
