Rural Retreat Wreck, 10-20-1920 - 105th Anniversary

For Herr Comrade Goodmann and any others who are interested in what caused
this wreck, the ICC report is attached.

The ICC report contains the objective facts.  As to why 14's Engineman
decided to "head in" on the passing siding, reading minds is never an easy
task.

When I hired (1964,)  men who remembered this wreck were still working.  I
asked some of them about it.  Some of them thought that, for some weeks
prior to the wreck, the Train Orders put 14 in-the-hole for its meet with
37 at Rural Retreat... but today it was different.
