I bought a junker Clinchfield RR 2-8-8-2 for spare parts that suffered from zinc pest to both of the boiler weights. The tender frame and driver assemblies are still usable.

I have 2 of the LL Proto 2000 USRA version Y3's w 12K USRA tenders made in China. Both tender underframes are warped considerably. One is new in the box. The other has been taken out and shell removed.

I'm trying to see if anyone has the Walthers version of this model which was also made in China to see if they also have warped and if not, do they have a different underframe that might prevent this.

I hadn't looked at these models in years and a few weeks ago ran across this issue which I don't recall seeing or hearing about before.

If you happen to have one of the Walther's USRA models, please let me know the condition of your tender underframe. I don't know if any of the Y3's with the 12K tenders were made in Austria and if so, their condition. That would also be interesting to know.

Thanks for your time,

Don Yelverton
