I looked at the folder for Virginian AFE 3740 at the Archives and can now report that the wye was officially retired from operation November 23, 1934 although the AFE itself was dated February 4, 1935. The reason given for retirement was "The Electrification of the Railway makes the Wye Tracks at this point unnecessary." Joe Shaw
