Mike:The railroad police keep Portlock Yard under surveillance, so that'sonce place I'd stay off railroad property.  You might try what had beenVirginian's South Norfolk tower.  This is where  N&W crossed theVirginian at the north (timetable east) end of Portlock Yard.  Fromdowntown South Norfolk (on U.S. 460) take Seaboard Avenue westand you'll probably find a place near the crossing.  Understand Bridge 7now controls the interlocking.  Incidentally, Bridge 7 is kinda photogenicand it's just a couple of miles west on U.S. 460                                                                     Harry Bundty
