The bridge that the Blacksburg branch is crossing on has concrete piers with one or more trestle bents immediately adjacent. It almost looks like falsework - are the piers new?

This is an excursion from Rooanoke to Blacksburg for the 1957 NRHS
Convention. The location is Merrimac on the Blacksburg Branch where it
crosses over the main line of the Virginian. Offhand, I remember that the
lead engine was the 475 and one of the other two was the 405.

Subject: Triple-Header steam on trestle
I saw this slide for sale on eBay and thought I would share it. It appears
that the Virginian is crossing underneath, so I anticipate someone can
identify the location. I rarely see three triple-headed steam locomotives
except for railfan excursions, but this appears to be in regular service.
No date or other information provided by the seller.
