The trestle in the back ground was built by the Virginian Railway, as part of their mainline between Princeton, WV and Roanoke, VA. Someone else may be able to provide a build date and the contractor who erected the structure. Kurt Reisweber (sp?) has written a few modern books on the VGN which are all in color that you may find enjoyable.

Depot with an eastbound in downtown Oakvale, WV plus the town’s caboose under the high trestle (appealing to others to explain which railroad built it).

Depot sure could use some citizens help to preserve it.
