And there is a flag located in the locomotive's trailing coupler confirming
it's a westbound pusher headed for Buford's Gap through the Blue Ridge seen
in the background. John Garner

Another clue that this is Montvale is the presence of the caboose behind the
tender which leads me to think that this is the pusher on the East side of
Blue Ridge grade, and the smoke from the stack suggests backward movement of
the locomotive. -Ed Burnett
