Color light signals on the Buchanan lBranch

Jeff:
This may not be the entire reason that NKP signals
have showed up on the Buchanan Branch, but in the
early seventies, the Winston District added a passing siding
and built the branch to Duke Power's Belew's Creek
plant.  Problem was, N&W did not have enough position
light signal equipment to furnish these additions. Not sure
if Wabco (US&S) couldn't supply the equipment or if 
J.P. Fishwick was squeezing nickels, but  by
extending the spacing between the signals east of
Crewe, Signals & Communications was able to send
the surplus signals to the Pun'kin  Vine projects.
