Sorry if you took it wrong, Mr. Garner,. but in 2015 I can't conceive of
anyone around not knowing that part of the history of the N&W. There is so
much material available for those who have questions about that period that
makes it even more unusual to me. But if I have offended anyone else,
besides you, please accept my apology and let me know so I can apologize
personally to you.

Subject: NWHS Membership / Bristol Line Question

This kind of answer grows NWHS membership . . . . "The Bristol Line is
typically how it is referenced, although to the railroad it is the Pulaski
District. That is the original main line of the Virginia and Tennessee
Railroad, which made connection at Lynchburg. Central, now Radford, was an
important point on the line early on and was the origin of the new line west
to the coal fields."

This kind of answer does not grow NWHS membership . . . . "Kinda new to the
N&W Society, are you, Jeff?"

In my humble opinion. J. Garner Newport, VA

I bought the book on the Clinch Valley, but I often travel down I81 to NC
and have wondered about the line between Radford and Bristol.? Does this
line have a name? I hope some day a book on the line is brought out in the
Branch Line series.
