If a switch is a mainline switch and lined for mainline movement then the switch is considered in "normal position". If the switch is lined for a diverging route then the switch is considered in the "reversed position". -Jeff Hensley

I feel like this a dumb question, but I realized the other day that although
I've heard many different terms used in general, I don't know specifically
what terms the N&W used to describe the orientation of a switch.
