VGN Shockley Branch

I found out this past Sunday that there was a Shockley Branch of the VGN.  I would model it if I could be sure I wouldn't be considered an egomaniac or that I wouldn't BE an egomaniac.  I haven't been a big fan of people naming stuff after themselves on their layouts.  Exceptions might have to be made for such an opportunity.

Likely I will order the documents.  It appears to have been abandoned in 1948.  Is there anything anyone can tell me otherwise?
