Lamberts Point Pier Cars

I have always assumed they were black with white lettering, since I can think of no reason N&W would use any other colors.

one for my model train layout and was looking for color photographs 
or someone who can tell me what color they were.I have several good 
photographs of them, but they are all black and white. Any help would
