I thought I sent an update to the list but apparently it did not get  
through.
I found that the 500 series engine was indeed 563, as it was clear it  
had the one piece running board.
So that mystery is solved.  I was able to view 578 in steam at ORM in  
the 60's for comparison.

Now on my other topic of the 600 series light engine....it turns out  
to be 601, which I found in another film
clip at Portsmouth and the running board paint is all beat-up just  
like the shot at Batavia of the light engine.
The clip at Portsmouth was a month later, so maybe this run was the  
last time it was in steam...who knows???
