A gentleman named Dennis Bratcher has a quite interesting website on Lynchburg glass insulators, the Lynchburg Glass Works and the Lynchburg Glass Corporation.  The link is:

It appears they had a siding on the Southern, rather than the N&W.  Nonetheless, interesting reading.
