Question about the J whistles

     I don,t  know for sure . But find it highly unlikely considering
the mechanical linkage differences of the two whistles not imposable
but would have involved a little more work than just changing the whistle.
 They did add doghouses to the tenders and added A-Tank connections.
I know of several J whistles owned by collectors and they came  form the
scrap yard right off the locomotive. Except mine it was rescued by Ed King
from the air room at Shaffer's Crossing
