Air vents on K2s and Js

You've got it pretty fine, and of course it didn't all happen at once. I was in

Subject: Air vents on K2s and Js

Gentlemen,
Does anyone know when the air vents were added to the front of the streamlined 
K2s and Js? I'm looking for an approx. date. I've narrowed it down to sometime 
between 1953 and 1955 based on photos in the archive but I can't get it any 
finer than that.
