Three Ladies and Two Children Walk into Moving Motor Cycle

    Mrs. Dailey* Stowers, who resides just west of the corporate limits, near the old sawmill, together with two other ladies and two children, had a narrow escape from being injured Tuesday morning while walking west from Graham, when the party and one of the railroad motor cycles, in charge of two signal men, on the bridge east of the old sawmill, during a heavy wind and rain storm.  The railroad men were running the car at the usual rate of speed and did not see the women and children until within a few feet of them.  The walkers all had their heads down, protecting themselves against the rain, and allowed the car to run into them.  Mrs. Stowers fell, but fortunately she was not injured, but was right badly frightened when she saw what a close shave they had on the trestle.  The signal men declare it was fortunate for the party that it was a motor cycle they had walked into instead of a locomotive, for had it been the latter a fearful tragedy would undoubtedly have resulted.
