BOTH LEGS CUT OFF
------
Joseph Boone Stepping Out of Way of One Train Got in Front of Another
He was walking along the east bound track and stepped out of the way of an approaching freight train only to step directly in front of a flying passenger train which knocked him down and cut off both legs. This is the oft repeated story which must be told again, for yesterday morning near Pando, Joseph Boone, while walking along the railroad track, stepped from the east bound track to escape a freight train directly in front of No. 7 which was approaching him on the west bound track. the man was knocked down and both legs cut off. He was taken to the miner's hospital at Welch but can hardly survive the shock attendant to the loss of his legs and the loss of blood resulting from the accident.
