Pocahontas Men Go to Roanoke to Consult Railway Officials

A. J. King, M. C. Smith and C. M. Galway*, of Pocahontas, passed through the city yesterday on their way to Roanoke, where they went to consult with the Norfolk and Western officials regarding a better passenger schedule for Pocahontas, which town is unfortunately situated, being off the main line of the Norfolk and Western, yet only a half mile [More like a mile and a half on a track chart.] from Bluestone Junction where all main line trains pass. Additinal trains into Pocahontas are to be asked for.

TRAIN MUCH BELATED
Several Queer* Accidents Contribute To the Delay of No. 4
Train No. 4 was several hours late yesterday on account of three minor accidents. On the Cincinnati division an engine failure delayed the train for about three hours. At Kenova a long wait for another train to cross caused more delay and finally at Glen Alum the train broke in two while it was making a good rate of speed. The emergency brakes stopped the cars without any damage. Car No. 3 and "The Atlas" of the Central Railroad of New Jersey, were attached to the train and were returning from St. Louis where the railroad presidents, general managers and superintendents have been attending a meeting of the American Railway Association.
