T. E. KEENAN KILLED
------
Standing Under New River Bridge When Beam Fell and Struck Him

An unfortunate accident at the New River bridge on the Virginia [sic] Railway was the cause of the sudden death of T. E. Keenan, of Rock Hill, S. C. Keenan was standing underneath the bridge where he was doing some work when without warning a beam which was being removed from the traveler which was used in the construction of the bridge and which was being torn down fell through the bridge striking Keenan on the breast and knocking him down with such force that his ribs were crushed in and his heart ruptured. The man died within a few minutes after the accident. His remains were brought to this city on train No. 1 and were taken to a local undertaking parlor where they were prepared for burial. The remains will be removed to his former home in South Carolina. Mr. Keenan was well known among the bridge force and the accident, coming as it did at nearly the close of the mammoth piece of construction work, threw a sort of pall over the work for the remainder of the day. Keenan's remains were accompanied to this city by a number of his former friends.
