Very sad news.  Jim was a great person and did a tremendous job of leading  the N&WHS from being just another group of folks with a common railway interest into an organization that has become one of the premier railway historical societies in America.  His steadfast leadership, proven management skills, work ethic were foundational to the success we as the N&WHS enjoy today.  He will be missed greatly.

I am sorry to report that past NWHS president Jim Gillum passed away last night. His family reports that he did not suffer and was in no pain.

Jim had been fighting ALS - a degenerative muscle disease and was recently diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumor.

NWHS has lost one of its giants.
