In and About Town
------
The Deepwater cars crossed the Bluestone at Rock on Thursday of last week, and the construction train will finish the track laying through the big tunnel on Garland & Litz's work today. This is said to be one of the best pieces of work on the line.

Bluefield Daily Telegraph
August 6, 1907

[Trains were already operating between Deepwater and Matoaka, so this track laying must have been east of Rock where the first two tunnels east are: Rock - 549' and King - 452' Which is "big tunnel?" Who, or what, was Garland & Litz? The track-laying contractor?]
