500 To Attend N&W Service Session

   About 500 N&W men from nine state will meet in Roanoke today and 
tomorrow for the 33rd annual Better Service Conference of the 
railroad. Purpose of the meeting is to discuss ways and means of 
improving service to customers.
   R. H. Smith, N&W president who is retiring Monday, will address 
the opening session, a luncheon at Hotel Roanoke.
   After lunch six committees will discuss and prepare reports for 
the Saturday morning session.
   Talks will be given Saturday morning by Stuart T. Saunders, 
president-elect; H. C. Wyatt, vice president and general manager; F. 
S. Baird, vice president in charge of traffic; and C. E. Pond, 
general superintendent motive power.
   The session will end after lunch Saturday.
