Wrecks Delay Passenger Trains
------
Passenger train No. 12, from Kenova, due here at 7:30 Sunday evening, did not get in until after 1 o'clock yesterday [Monday] morning -- in fact, it didn't get here at all, but No. 11 to which its mail and passengers were transferred, came back soon after 1 o'clock. The first delay occurred near Dixon [apparently this should be Dickson as shown on the 1904 Annual Report map], where a freight train was wrecked and eight cars piled in a heap. After that wreckage had been cleared away No. 12 came on to Dingess, where it found two big battleship coal cars turned crossways on the track, and No. 11 standing on this side of the wreck. Before this debris could be cleared away, the two trains had transferred their mails and human freight, and No. 11 returned to Bluefield, while No. 12 went back to Kenova.
