First Trains Over Cut-Off are Freights
------
The Norfolk and Western railroad commenced to operate freight trains over its Big Sandy division from Naugatuck to Kenova.
Three heavy freights were operated over the line Wednesday [November 23, 1904] for the first time. The run [sic] was made without untoward incident.
This service will be continued for some weeks before the regular passenger service is inaugurated, and it will serve to solidify the road bed, so that by the time that passenger trains are ready to run, it will be in excellent condition.
