      Upon further review of a larger photo http://www.pbase.com/sridenhour/image/84172892/orginal  This link looks to be clickable but I can't get it to work.  I now see what I thought was a C is an O for G&O and the stripe is that of the old GM&O heralds.  These units have Canadian wide cabs and are not GP40X's, sorry.  Thanks for setting me straight on the G&O name though.

   The one you saw could have been one of their GP-38s but normanly they run 4 or5 of their GP-40s together as they don't run very well mixed up. Ron
