BOSSEVAIN, VA., COMES TO FRONT
New Town in Tazewell County to Be the Home of a Gigantic Enterprise
MAXIMUM CAPITAL OF NEARLY EIGHT MILLIONS
The Pocahontas Consolidated Colliers Company Charters Yesterday by the
Corporation Commission -- Isaac T. Mann, of Bramwell, Is the President.
Richmond Va., May 24 -- Special -- With a maximum capital stock of seven
million, eight hundred thousand dollars, and a minimum of little less than
that amount, the Pocahontas Consolidated Colliers Company, of Bossevain,
was chartered by the Corporation Commission this morning. Issac T. Mann, of
Bramwell, is president of the company, and all of the other officers are
from Virginia and West Virginia with the exception of Charles S. T. Horne,
first vice-president, whose home is in New York.
The principal offices of the gigantic enterprise is to be at Bossevain,
a new town not far from the West Virginia line, in Tazewell county.
The purposes of the company are to purchase, lease, acquire or to own,
develop or mine cannel, bituminous and other coals, in Virginia.
Power is also given the company to manufacture electric, steam or water
power.
The stock is to be divided into two classes, preferred and common.
There is to be two million, eight hundred thousand dollars preferred
stock, entitling the holders to not less than six per cent dividends.
The officers of the new company are : Isaac T. Mann, president,
Bramwell, W. Va.; Charles S. T. Horne, vice-president, New York; Jenkin
Jones, second vice-president, Bramwell, W. Va.' James Elwood Jones, general
manager, Switchback; J. Walter Graybeal, secretary, Switchback; J. B.
Perry, Bramwell, W. Va., treasurer.
The above, together with Philip Goodwill, Stuart M. Buck and Harry Woen,
of Bramwell, W. Va., will constitute the board of directors.
