BLACKSBURG
Blacksburg, Va., May 18. -- Special -- All recitations have been suspended
at the Institute and the students are busy with the final examinations.
These end May 28th and the commencement exercises begin that evening with
the "the Senior promenade" in German Club hall at 9:30 o'clock. The
exercises end on Sunday evening with the annual sermon before the Young
Men's Christian Association at 8 o'clock, and early Monday morning reveille
will sound at 5 for the last time this session, the corps starting an
starting an hour afterwards on a special train for the Jamestown
Exposition, where they will remain in camp for nine days, disbanding the
evening of Virginia Day, June 12th. A number of commencement visitors and
members of the students' families will accompany the student body to the
Great Fair.
A special car, furnished by the Norfolk and Western railway, will be at
the Blacksburg depot this afternoon to carry the V.P.I. exhibits to
Jamestown. These exhibits are all ready for the buildings there, and are
mostly the work of the students themselves, done in the laboratories and
shops here. The students and members of the faculty who are to have charge
of the exhibits, will go down on the third of June to remain until the
close of the Exposition.
