Caboose Wheel Set Mystery

I kinda  doubt the caboose was originally fitted with a 70-ton  truck,
for which the U-1 wheel was designed, and therefore did NOT
have the yellow ball.  Cabooses on the old NS were fitted with  40-ton
trucks.   Because the cabin car was no longer operable, it  probably
didn't hurt to mix the wheel sets  Since the cabin car was  retired in 
1963, there may have been other wheel set recalls I'm not familiar  with.
