This is now Blackstone, VA.  Area was orignally named for it's two variaties 
of sheep.

Blacks & Whites shows on Civil War maps of Va. The same maps show Lunenburg 
Court House as "Lewiston" (in present-day Lewiston District) and about where 
Chase City is now was then named "Christianville The City". About where Victoria 
is now was a crossroads place named "Crymes' Store." What we know as Nottoway 
Falls (between Victoria and Crewe) is shown as "Great Falls of Nottoway".
