Mr. Bundy,

Would it be possible to provide consist reports such as that for the Cannonball for other passenger trains at various places and at various times during the 1950's and 1960's? This tells alot about the passenger/mail/express part of the railroad which was significant during this time.

Regarding the Cannonball/Cavalier consist you shared, it appears that there would be only five cars (four mail/express, one passenger) west of Petersburg. Was that typical of the time or were additional cars added to the Cavalier portion at Petersburg going west?

Mr. Bundy,

Thanks for sharing your “Signal 98” from 8-20-63 for the combined Tr. 21.

I’m very interested in foreign line headend cars in passenger trains. It appears that Tr. 21 had three this day with a PRR X-29 express box car and a Southern 61’ hw baggage express deadheading and a PRR B60b express car in service.

Interestingly, the SR car is equipped for messenger service. These types of cars were not often interchanged which is probably why it was headed back as a DH to its home rails.

Question: Do you have any other “Signal 98” consist sheets to share with us?

Greatly appreciate seeing this one.

Best regards,

Dave Lambert

Referring to an earlier question regarding equipment protecting "The Cannonball" --

the following "Signal 98" was transmitted from NS Jct. on August 20, 1963. By

then, "The Cannonball" and "The Cavalier" had been combined.
