       The Shenandoah CTC machine wasn't all that big. Maybe 8' X 16' at the 
most, laid out like a rectangle with an opening in the middle of the long 
side. It was pretty crowded in there for two people. One man controlled from 
Hagerstown to Glasgow, the other from Glasgow to Winston Salem. 
       The "Hot Box" detectors were outside of the CTC cubical along the wall 
and needed to be read before the signal to proceed was given on the next home 
signal governing movement.
