Closing date of the Durham Shop.

Can anyone give me an idea as to when Norfolk and Western closed it's shops  
in Durham, NC?  I have recently visited the site and all that is left is  some 
tracks and bits of coal.  There is a coal wharf just outside of  the what I 
believe was the boundaries, but I believe that it belonged to a  private 
company that supplied coal to the area and was not on N&W  property.
