You are absolutely right about the overlapping of dates, Gordon. Thanks for 
the correction.  I have a friend who worked on the Durham line for 35 years. I 
will ask him the question of a diesel powered mixed.

The first time I saw an RS-3 was at Naruna.  A string of four of them had a 
south bound manifest in tow. The line through that section is very much a 
roller coaster and as a kid, seeing them snake over the hill, just north of the 
depot, was memorable.
